A member of the Nebraska Writers Workshop saw Shen Yun Performing Arts at Omaha’s Orpheum Theater on April 20th.

[Johnnye Gerhardt, Writer]:
“It was visually stunning. It was inspiring. Colorful. It was exciting. It was dramatic. It had a lot of depth with the screen, the digital screen, and it gave this, because the stage being a confined area, it gave it so much more depth. It was truly wonderful. It was really fantastic.”

She also comments on the colors used in the performance.

[Johnnye Gerhardt, Writer]:
“Oh colorful. The way they captured every color in the spectrum. And I was fascinated with how they incorporated the colors of the costumes with the background. It was very well blended and it was altogether. It was a symphony of color.”

She says she felt surrounded by wonderful energy from the performers.

[Johnnye Gerhardt, Writer]:
“It seemed to come off the stage. It seemed to envelope me somehow. It just pulled me forward. It made me part of the performance. I felt like I was surrounded by this wonderful energy, which these young people had to share with the audience. And it was just, it was wonderful. And the time went so quickly. I couldn’t believe that we had been in there as long as we had.”

Shen Yun will be in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on April 23rd and 24th.
